F-Font is an extension/component (Addon) for industry-leading tool (Adobe Flash). A simple, efficient, easy-to-use solution to create and load dynamic fonts inside the Flash Platform.

F-Font comes with two tools:

  • F-Font Generator
    An innovative Adobe Flash UI add-on converts local fonts to a Flash font library (.FFT format).
  • F-Font Loader Component
    A light-weight Flash component destined to load and apply external font styles on Flash text fields.

F-Font reveals itself as a must-have solution for anyone who wants to save time, increase their project performance and improve their results when working with text in Flash.

When you export a font, F-Font Generator creates and stores all of the font data in two FFT files (one file with the selected font characters, another with the font header) F-Font also creates an xml file that contain certain data (as relative path, name, shortcut, color and size).
After loaded the XML list file into your document, the external fonts are available to use as a common embed fontand will be displayed properly even if it's not installed on the user's computer.

Working just the same as a HTML Stylesheet (CSS) you are able to create font themes to your Flash projects. With F-Font it is easy to apply a list of external font files to customize once simple sites into a complex RIA system loading several SWF files. This way you get better performance and save time and money in production.
Loading the fonts files from one local file, negates the need of load the same redundant data, means lighter Flash file sizes, resulting in less server bandwidth consumption.

Visitors to your sites will be happy with faster file loads, as there is no need to embed fonts with your SWFs. Once the fonts are loaded in, the SWFs use the browser cache resulting in a significant time reduction to load multiple SWF files with text content.
